Cookie Policy

What data this site stores in your browser, and how to control it.

What This Site Uses

Strategyroom Brief does not use cookies in the traditional sense. This site does not set any HTTP cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes.

The only browser-side storage used is localStorage, a standard browser API that stores data locally on your device without transmitting it to any server.

What Is Stored in localStorage

We store a single item in your browser's localStorage:

  • Key: srb_cookie_choice
  • Value: accepted or rejected
  • Purpose: To remember whether you have responded to the cookie consent banner, so it does not reappear on subsequent visits.
  • Expiry: localStorage persists until you clear your browser's local storage or until your browser's storage is otherwise reset. There is no server-set expiration.
  • Data shared: None. This value is not transmitted to any server.

No Advertising or Analytics

This site does not connect to:

  • Google Analytics, Matomo, or any other analytics platform
  • Meta Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising network
  • Social media tracking widgets
  • Any third-party data broker or audience platform

Third-Party Images

Some images on this site are loaded from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org). When your browser requests these images, a standard HTTP request is made to Wikimedia's servers. This is a normal browser behaviour and is not a tracking mechanism. The Wikimedia Foundation's own privacy policy governs how those requests are processed on their end.

How to Remove the Stored Preference

You can remove the stored consent preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. In most browsers, this option is found in the developer tools (Application > Local Storage) or through the privacy/history clearing settings. Removing the stored item will cause the consent banner to reappear on your next visit.

Your Choices

When you see the consent banner at the bottom of the page, you may:

  • Accept — stores accepted in localStorage and hides the banner.
  • Reject — stores rejected in localStorage and hides the banner. No change in site functionality occurs; the only practical effect is that the banner remembers your response.
  • Cookie Settings — brings you to this page.
